2011 VIADER 750ml New Release
(66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Cabernet Franc)
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: Delicate perfume of redcurrant, rose petal and earth. Supple and perfumed in the mouth, with a restrained sweetness to the vibrant flavors of red cherry, redcurrant, flowers, baking spices and herbs. Finishes long and ripe, with firm tannic spine and terrific buoyancy. Very successful for the vintage, and showing the floral character of this cuvee in spades.
92-94 points (May/June 2013)
Winemakers Notes: An outburst of sweet ripe red fruits on the nose recalling wild strawberry, marionberry, cassis, black cherry, and even rhubarb pie among aromas of vanilla, new leather, floral notes, fresh sage, and toasted marshmallow. The ripe fruit is complemented by a vibrant acidity bringing the mouthfeel into an impressive balance. The fine-grained firm tannins are elegant and attractive; their impression remaining on the palate throughout the long finish.
