Winemaker a.k.a. winemother Delia Viader describes the 2009 VIADER “V” Petit Verdot blend as: “Sweet long finish, delicious and chocolatey, with a mischievous punch.” Upon opening the aromas explode out of the glass bringing forth memories of violets, bitter sweet chocolate and black fruits as well as vanillin, blueberry, plum, blackberry, cassis and sour cherries, with high notes of maraschino cherry, licorice, and an overall earthy minerality. The palate is both opulent yet fresh, showing seductive volume, persistency and focus. Bright dark fruits complemented by a racy and captivating acidity, focused fine-grained tannins, concluded by a delicate and persistent long finish.
When to drink: Enjoy now through 2019 or cellar for 5-7 years. Decanting is encouraged, but not necessary.
