The Dozen – Thinking of California
By Roger Morris
Sometimes we can’t do much about a pending catastrophe except to think good thoughts and try to find a way to help. In the case of California wine regions which are being devastated this week by wild fires, you might crystallize those thoughts by considering choosing some of their wines, such as those in this week’s Dozen, in your next round of purchases.
2017 VIADER Napa Valley “Black Label” Red Wine ($150). Excellent concentrated flavors of cassis and dark cherry with a touch of burnished vanilla in the finish. This wine improves with time in the decanter and will age for decades in the cellar.
