It has remarkable purity in its cassis and currant-like fruit profile as well as notes of spicy oak, leather, loamy earth, and some chalky, mineral nuances. With full-bodied richness, ripe tannins, and a firm, age-worthy style, give it 2-4 years and enjoy over the following 15-20 years.

93 Points – Based on 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Red Blend Homenaje boasts a dense purple/blue color as well as a ripe, impressive bouquet of blue fruits, sappy herbs, flowers, chocolate, and earth. This carries a medium to full-bodied red with wonderful purity of fruit, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. I’d be happy to have bottles in the cellar, and it should evolve for 15+ years or more.

The 2018 Red Blend Homenaje is a blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Displaying a deep garnet-purple color, it rolls out of the glass with expressive notes of fruitcake, plum preserves, scorched earth and beef drippings with nuances of cracked black pepper, mossy tree bark and truffles. Medium to full-bodied, the mouth provides a firm foundation of grainy tannins and compelling freshness to support the taut, tightly wound black fruit and earthy layers, finishing on a stewed tea note.
2017 Homenaje by VIADER
The 2017 Malbec Homenaje by Viader checks in as 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. It too has plenty of mid-palate depth and medium to full-bodied richness as well as impressive notes of blackcurrants, plums, peppery herbs, and chocolate. It’s good today yet will be even better with 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for a decade.

2017 Homenaje by VIADER
The 2017 Malbec Homenaje is laced with generous dark cherry, plum, chocolate, leather, licorice and spice. Plush and explosive with notable depth, the 2017 is another compelling wine in this range from Viader. I would give it a few years to allow the formidable tannins to soften.
