91+ Points – A blend of 76% Petit Verdot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 Petit Verdot V sports a deep purple/plum hue as well as an exotic nose of ripe plums, blueberries, scorched earth, leather, and dried herbs. Rich, full-bodied, and mouth-filling, it doesn’t have the elegance or sophistication of the Cabernet yet certainly brings a wealth of fruit, extract, and tannin. Hide bottles for 7-8 years if you can and it should be long lived. 236 cases.

93 Points – 2019 VIADER “V” – This offers aromas of ripe dark fruit and wet leaves, as well as some licorice and spiced oak. Full bodied and chewy with a long, mineral finish and a touch of saltiness. Will soften in a couple of years. 76% petit verdot and 24% cabernet sauvignon. Try in 2023.

93 Points – The 2019 Red Blend V is composed of 76% Petit Verdot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers up notes of plum preserves, stewed black cherries, mulberries and damp soil with wafts of tar and tobacco. The medium to full-bodied palate has a rock-solid structure of firm, chewy tannins and bright acidity supporting the taut, muscular fruit, finishing long and savory. After a 4-5 years in bottle, this should blossom beautifully and drink for a further 15 years+. – Lisa Perotti-Brown (November, 2021)
An interesting blend of 61% Petit Verdot and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, there are 250 cases of the 2018 Red Blend V. Its deep purple/blue color is followed by a beautiful bouquet of blue fruits, candied violets, flowers and sappy herbs. It shows a touch more chocolate and oak with time in the glass, yet this is a rich, powerful wine that needs 4-5 years (if not more) of bottle age. It has notable acidity as well as tannins, and my money is on this keeping for 30 years or more.
Lovely blue fruit with blackberries, blackcurrants and some bark and dark chocolate. Medium to full body, round and firm tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink in 2022.
2018 VIADER “V” Petit Verdot Blend

A blend of 61% Petit Verdot and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Red Blend V has a deep garnet-purple color, opening with tantalizing notes of blackberry pie, blueberry preserves and warm cassis plus suggestions of chocolate box, new leather, black olives and tobacco leaf. The full-bodied palate has a firm line of ripe, grainy tannins and fantastic freshness supporting the brawny black fruit and savory layers, finishing with great length and depth. Give this another 3-4 years in bottle and drink it over the next 20 years+.
