2005 DARE by Viader

The robe is a beautiful cherry red and the nose tempts you with aromas of red berries, plums, oak and sweet spices. After a few minutes of opening, darker fruits, smoke and peppery notes develop in the glass. On the palate the wine shows enticing flavors of ripe black cherries and strawberries supported by velvety tannins. Fully integrated oak flavors and a well-defined mid-palate. Hints of tobacco, vanilla and caramel carry the finish, making this wine ready to be enjoyed young or cellared for 1 to 4 years time from vintage date.

2005 VIADER “V”

With incredibly intriguing qualities, the fruit and structure of the 2005 “V” exudes a tantalizing touch of mystery. Rose petals and harmonizing aromas of dry sandalwood and burnt caramel bring back memories of caramel brittle. Vibrant black cherries, black currant and pomegranate coat the palate with piquant spice, full body and vanillin on the finish. The most unique “V” to date.

2005 VIADER “Liquid Cashmere”

Our 2005 VIADER reaches a more sophisticated, almost “aristocratic” elegance, showing initial notes of mocha and tobacco leaf supporting the ripe black fruit. Enticingly sweet brown sugar notes on the nose complement currant and mineral undertones typical of wines coming from Howell Mountain’s volcanic soil. On the palate, this wine shows refined, supple tannins with a “persistent cashmere finish”.

2005 VIADER Proprietary Red – “Beautiful Integration of Acidity, Alcohol, Wood and Tannin”

One of the finest wines I’ve tasted from Delia Viader, the 2005 Proprietary Red Liquid Cashmere is a blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Cabernet Franc aged 24 months in French oak. She seems to have built in more texture and richness without losing the complexity and suppleness that these wines possess. Loads of blueberry, raspberry and sweet black cherry fruit, forest floor and floral notes are all present in this wine, made from a hillside vineyard on Howell Mountain. A beautiful integration of acidity, alcohol, wood and tannin are worthy of high marks. This beauty is delicious and complex already, and because of its impressive equilibrium, promises to hold for at least another 10-15 years.
